Acute pesticide injury

Cambridge City Council is taking fantastic steps to reduce its own pesticide use for the benefits of nature and human health, including running herbicide-free trials in Arbury and Newnham. Unfortunately this doesn't stop members of the public and other stakeholders taking matters into their own hands. We've received numerous recent reports of irresponsible non-council herbicide and insecticide applications that not only harm the environment but present serious risks to human health. The links between domestic pesticides, cancer and chronic illness are well documented, but the immediate effects of exposure are less well understood. If you've been exposed to pesticide drift and are feeling ill, please check the following for symptoms of poisoning of the most commonly active ingredients, noting that individual vulnerability will always be impacted by genetics and detoxification enzyme status.
